STANDBYESPORTS BROADCAST TALENT, ON DEMAND.

Trust & Safety Policy

Last updated: June 30, 2026

Standby is an early-stage platform, and these policies may be updated as we grow. This page is provided for transparency and is not legal advice.

1. What this policy is for

Standby only works if both sides can trust it. Organizations need to know the talent they book will show up and do the job; talent need to know they will be paid what was agreed. This policy sets out the conduct we expect from everyone on the Platform and what happens when someone breaks it.

2. Rules of conduct

Whether you are talent or an organization, on Standby you agree to:

  • Honor your bookings. If you accept a booking, show up and deliver the role. If you post a booking and it is accepted, pay for it. Cancel only when you genuinely must, and as early as possible.
  • Communicate. Reply to messages, share call times and run-of-show details, and raise problems early rather than going silent.
  • Treat people with respect. No harassment, discrimination, threats, or abuse of any kind, on or off the Platform.
  • Keep payments on the Platform. Do not take a booking off-platform to avoid the fee. Circumventing escrow removes the protection both sides rely on and is a violation.
  • Be honest. No fraud, no fake profiles, no misrepresenting your skills or availability, and no fabricated, doctored, or misleading evidence in a dispute.

3. How to report a problem

If someone breaks these rules or you feel unsafe, report it. You can report a problem directly through the affected booking on the Platform, or through our contact page. Tell us what happened and include anything that helps us understand it: messages, screenshots, timestamps, or recordings. The more concrete the detail, the faster we can act.

4. What happens after you report

When we receive a report, we follow a consistent process:

  • Acknowledge: we confirm we have received the report.
  • Gather: we collect the relevant booking, messages, and any evidence from both sides.
  • Review: we weigh what happened against the booking terms and our policies.
  • Decide: we reach an outcome in good faith based on the evidence available.
  • Act: we apply the appropriate consequence and, where money is involved, allocate the escrowed funds.

Standby makes the final call. As with our Dispute Policy, our decision is a marketplace determination, not a legal judgment, and it is final and binding on the people involved.

5. Enforcement

Consequences scale with the severity and pattern of the behavior. For most issues we follow an enforcement ladder:

  • Warning: a first or minor violation gets a clear warning and a chance to correct course.
  • Suspension: repeated or more serious violations lead to a temporary suspension from the Platform.
  • Permanent removal: continued or egregious violations result in a permanent ban.

Some conduct skips the ladder. Fraud, scams, payment circumvention that harms another user, and fabricated or doctored evidence lead to immediate removal from the Platform, regardless of the underlying booking. Where we are made aware of conduct that may be unlawful, we may also report it to the relevant authorities.

6. Contact

Questions about trust and safety, or about a specific report, can be raised through your booking on the Platform or via our contact page.
